Donia Foglia is a young Italian classical guitarist, acclaimed by critics for the maturity and excellence of her musical interpretation. Her performances have been described as “a truly moving emotional experience,” combining expressive depth, musical refinement, and outstanding technical precision.
She graduated with highest honors from the Gaetano Donizetti Conservatory in Bergamo in October 2021, where she studied under Luigi Attademo, Fabiano Merlante, and Pietro Locato. She began studying the guitar at an early age with Marco Compagnoni and Giulio Tampalini. She subsequently earned her Master's degree with highest honors from the Hochschule für Musik Stuttgart (Germany), where she studied with Johannes Monno. She then continued her artistic training at the prestigious Haute École de Musique de Genève, under the guidance of Judicaël Perroy.
Throughout her musical journey, she has further refined her artistry by attending masterclasses and advanced courses with some of the world's leading guitarists, including Marcin Dylla, Carlo Marchione, and Paolo Pegoraro.
Her concert career has taken her to numerous European countries, including Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, and Spain. In 2023, she made her debut as a soloist at the Stuttgart International Guitar Festival (SIGC), one of Europe's most prestigious guitar festivals.
Alongside her concert activity, she has developed an extensive recording career, collaborating with leading international institutions in the classical guitar world, including Siccas Guitars in Karlsruhe (Germany). She is currently involved in new recording projects in collaboration with a recording studio in Warsaw, Poland.
An enthusiastic chamber musician, she regularly performs in a variety of ensembles, including guitar trio, flute and guitar duo, and larger chamber ensembles. In 2020, she was invited to perform Luigi Boccherini's Guitar Quintets for Bergamo TV and for dedicated radio broadcasts.
Since 2025, she has been a faculty member at the Conservatoire International de Musique de Genève (CISM), where she combines her teaching career with an active international concert schedule.
